Going Up to South Park
Striking homes and an unusual mix of residents can be seen in an area of Greater Golden Hill. Rising 200 feet above sea level and sitting on the east of Balboa Park is the neighborhood of South Park. Property in this community reflects the dynamism as well as the early days of the neighborhood. Strolling along its streets, one immediately notices the homeliness of the place. Featured businesses serve appetizing treats, mark down prices, and welcome you into their establishments. Besides the walkabout, there's the annual South Park Old House Fair to look forward to. Where Beech and 30th Street converge is where the action is during mid-June. Furniture, curio items, food, booze, and musical performances flood the venue.
Living in South Park is convenient. The drive to downtown only takes a couple of minutes and Balboa Park, along with its numerous attractions, is a mere walk away. Food choices are abundant and the neighborhood is aglow with festivities during Halloween and Christmas. Making your home in this charming area will be a joy.
